On November 28, 2023, on the eve of the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is celebrated annually in the world on December 9, a new play by the student theatre «Urker" - "Alma!» - was shown at Abai University. The production is designed to raise awareness of the problem of corruption and its impact on society.
The event was attended by Bolat Tlep, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU, Arman Rakhimov, Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Kanat Salimbayev, Head of the Prevention Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Sabyr Tumenbayev, Head of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service of the university, as well as heads of structural units and students of the university.
The idea and direction of the production belong to talented 2nd year students of the Institute of Philology Mukhtarov Yermakhan and Karabal Daniyar. The play touched upon the problem of corruption, revealed its impact on interpersonal relations, social justice and basic moral values, and gave the audience a new view and understanding of this social phenomenon.
Bolat Tlep stressed the importance of the event and expressed his sincere gratitude to the participants of the student theatre for their excellent performance. Such work forms students` understanding of responsibility to society and strengthens among young people such universal values as integrity, honesty and morality, which are cultivated in our university. The rector noted that the event is an important step in improving not only the professional skills of students, but also their responsibility in society and the role of a conscious citizen.
At the end of the event, Arman Rakhimov presented letters of appreciation to the rector of the university and an employee of the anti-corruption compliance service, as well as to the student theatre "Urker".
