On the eve of December 9 – the International Anti-Corruption Day – a meaningful meeting aimed at strengthening the principles of honesty and integrity was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The initiative was organized by the Compliance Service for Anti-Corruption in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and included a number of educational and awareness-raising activities for students.

One of the highlights of the event was an exhibition prepared by the Faculty of Arts. In their works, students creatively reflected the issues of injustice and corruption in society, expressing their civic position through artistic compositions. The works of the young artists made a strong impression on both the university community and the guests of the event.

The meeting was opened by the Head of the Office of Abai University, Zhanatbek Ishpekbayev, who emphasized that systematic work is being carried out at the university to promote a culture of integrity.

“The fight against corruption is the responsibility not only of the state but of every citizen. Justice must be strengthened not only by law but also by public awareness,” he noted.

A special guest of the event was the former Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alik Shpekbayev. He spoke to young people about the importance of honest work, quality education, and personal responsibility.

“The main goal of state policy in this area is not punishment, but prevention. If you choose the path of honesty today, you will follow this principle in your future professional activities as well. During exams and in public service, choose not the easiest path, but true knowledge,” said Alik Shpekbayev.

During the meeting, the best works of the Faculty of Arts students who participated in the creative competition were recognized, and awards were presented to the winners. In addition, student theater groups from different faculties presented stage performances dedicated to the harmful effects of corruption on society. A new performance by the student theater “Qaganat” entitled “Corruption” made a strong impression on the audience, clearly demonstrating the consequences of bribery for both individuals and society as a whole.

A representative of the Department of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs in Almaty, Aidana Nurmagambetova, provided students with recommendations on developing legal awareness and fostering the principles of integrity.

The event held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University not only promoted the values of honesty and justice among young people but also contributed to strengthening their civic responsibility.
